Mt.6,14,Forgiveness

"For if you forgive others their sins, your heavenly father will also forgive you."
Jesus puts a lot of emphasis on forgiveness in his teachings. He makes our  forgiveness of others even conditional for the forgiveness of our sins by God.
Jesus understands the nature of man.Man will always be unhappy and can never enjoy peace if he nurses grudges and hateful feelings in his heart. It always happens  that one gets hurt in his dealings with one another.Even if we are perfect and very careful, there will always be a possibility of creating hurts and wounds in  others because of our words, actions or the nuances of our words. So too we will be hurt by the actions of others. We have to let go of those feelings. It may not be possible to forgive because of the way we are.The hurts could be deeper and very piercing, affecting the future of our lives, our jobs, our reputation and the status of our families. How can we get rid of such hateful feelings.Humanly , it is not possible but with God's grace, it is possible for us to forget those hurts. What is our reward?God will forgive our sins. However sinful we are, God's mercy is there for us to experience and to feel free of the impact of our sins.
Today God has given us an opportunity to forget the past and to forgive all those who have hurt us.We have to put our trust in the Lord and believe  that he would repair the damage and give us the grace to be whole again.Once we let these hard feelings go away from our mind, we can feel a sense of peace and joy that nobody else can give us.
Lord, help me to forgive all those who have hurt me in my life.Bless them and protect them.Have mercy on me.

Mt..5,16.You are the Light of the World

In this Gospel passage, Jesu reminds his followers about their duty to inspire others and lead them to the right path of living. After reminding them abut the the virtues of poverty, humility, purity, of establishing peace and accepting suffering. he asks them to rise above the common standard of wordily perceptions and to be come sources of inspiration and strengthening like salt and lights. They both make better what they come into contact with.Salt leavens food and gives it taste.Light helps one to find the way.We are asked to be lights and the salt to people we come into contact with our lives.
We cannot be satisfied with being just being on-llokers.We have to be part of the process of change and transformation. We have a duty to make the lives of others better and richer.
It is not by our power and resources that we are going to make their transformation. It is through the grace of the Lord that is present in our lives that we can can become lights to the world. Our good deed are the result of our faith in the Lord.It is because ewe believe in God that we can be come forgiving, compassionate, merciful and helpful and loving. These are the sparks of light that come out of our lives./Jesus wants us to continue sending these rays of goodness through our lives so that others may come to know HIm and accept Him.Our lives are our message.
Through our live,s we have to transform and change the world. The transformation is taking place because of the message of Gospel present in our life.
today we shall ask the Lord to help us to live by the message of the Gospel, to become more loving and forgiving and through our love and forgiveness to reach out other people and transform the,
Lord, help me to be a source of goodness to the people that I come into contact with today.

Mt.4,19:Follow me

In this passage from the Gospel of Matthew, we find Jesus beginning his public ministry.Without any fanfare, Jesus walks along the shore and finds people very busy engaged in their daily tasks of fishing. We can picture the scene very beautifully as we are familiar with such scenes on our coastal areas.
Jesus sees two brothers very busy engaged in pulling back their net from the sea.He calls them, with no introductions, not even mentioning any plans about his work or their ministry. Just the words, follow me and I will make you fishers of men. We would find them crazy for having their work and following him without getting any assurance from him about their future. But the left and followed him.So too, a little later, another group was engaged in their work along with their father. he called them, James and John  an the too followed him without asking any questions.Surprisingly, the left their father, right there itself to take care of their work. The too had no fear or reservations in their minds about their future.
What we realizes is that right at the call is elf, the felt the force of the call of Jesus. The knew from hearing the call that Jesus had everything the needed for their lives. The had total confidence and absolute trust in the power of Jesus.
we too should have the trust in Jesus. Jesus has called us to the minister, profession or job in our
life. He will be there with us as long as relive listening to Him. He will change all obstacles on our way.
Lord, help me tp put my trust in you as the Apostles did.Your call is enough for me. As long as you are present in my life, I can walk with confidence and hope.
