Tomorrow is the feast of the Pentecost, one of the very important feasts in the Christian liturgical calendar. As I sit here in my room in the rectory at Detroit,I am reflecting on the implications of the celebration of the feast in my life. I pray to the Lord to deepen my attachment to the Holy Spirit.
In my times of worries and anxieties,I pray to the Holy Spirit to give me peace and strength. As long as the Spirit of the Lord is with me, I know I don't have to be afraid of anybody.I pray daily the following prayer:The Spirit of the Living God, fall fresh on me, melt me, mold me and heal me.
Also we need the presence of the Holy Spirit in us in order to become defenders of our faith in Jesus.
